Mrs. Joann Andrew Thevenow Degler Rutherford, 81, of Madison, Indiana, formerly of Hanover, died at 7:28 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at her home in Madison, Indiana with her loving family at her side.
Joann will be missed by her loving husband of nearly 20 years, Robert E. “Bob” Rutherford of Madison, Indiana; her loving sons, Gary V. Thevenow of Bloomington, Indiana, Gary E. (Michelle) Degler of the Philippines, Kenny (Janet) Degler of Hanover, Indiana, Steve (Kerri) Wisner of North Vernon, Indiana and Scott Wisner of California; her loving daughters, Janice (Dean) Claphan of Fort Myers, Florida, Debbie (Derril) Taylor of Hanover, Indiana, Sharon Washburn of Hanover, Indiana, Jeri (Jerry) Lock of Lexington, Indiana, Elizabeth “Libby” (Tom) Rush of Madison, Indiana, Debrah (Ronald) Roberta of Greenwood, Indiana and Rhonda (Scott) Heiman of Seymour, Indiana; her 26 grandchildren; her 38 great-grandchildren; her loving sister, Bonnie Mahoney of Madison, Indiana; her brother-in-law, Dick Michaels of Madison, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Thevenow; and her second husband, Gerald O. Degler, on Dec. 6, 1994.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor J.D. Traylor at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday.
