Freedom Winds, the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America, will present a free concert at 7 p.m. today at The Commons, 300 Washington St. in Columbus.
The Columbus Indiana Philharmonic is presenting the event. The ensemble will perform jazz favorites, ragtime classics, Broadway show tunes, Hollywood film themes and traditional woodwind instrumentation, according to organizers.
Composed of six virtuoso airman musicians, the Air Force Band of Mid-America’s Freedom Winds add percussion to the traditional woodwind quintet instrumentation to enhance standard literature and increase their musical capabilities.
