Bull Dogs win tri meet

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus North was without Ashley Holliday, who was home sick, but still came through with an easy tri-meet win Tuesday at Roncalli.

The Bull Dogs finished with a 107.125 team total. Roncalli edged Scecina 93.95-91.975 for second.

North’s Claire Thompson won the all-around competition with a 36.875, just ahead of teammate Sami Heathcote’s 36.45. Thompson won the vault (9.475), bars (9.525) and floor (9.425) and took second on the beam (8.45). Heathcote won the beam (9.0) and was second on the vault (9.35), bars (8.725) and floor (9.375).

Ashley Niebrugge finished fourth on the beam (8.2) and fifth on the vault (8.475) and bars (8.125) on her way to a fourth-place all-around finish (33.4). Alayne Davis took third on the bars (8.375) and sixth on the floor (8.675), Kaitlyn Calandro tied for fourth on the floor (8.75) and was fifth on the beam (8.05) and Tova Edwards finished sixth on the bars (7.9).
