Evelyn Jane Lucas, 95, of Columbus, died at 1 a.m. February 15, 2017, at Hickory Creek Healthcare.

Evelyn was born Feb. 25, 1921, in Madison, the daughter of the late John T. and Sylvia L. Alexander Eaglin. She was first married to Paul Richard Geilker, who preceded her in death Aug. 26, 1976. She then married Donald Lucas, who preceded her in death Dec. 28, 2007.

Evelyn retired from Arvin after 30 years of service. She was a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star and was actively involved in The International Order of Rainbow for Girls.

She enjoyed bowling, dancing and reading.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Day Sr. officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Bartholomew County Humane Society through the funeral home.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam (Kenny) Minton of Columbus; grandchildren, Dalene Pattingill, Deena (Brad) Lunsford, Dale (Angie) Pattingill and Dacia (Bryan Lunsford) Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; brothers, Roscoe, John Robert, Eugene, Richard and Kenneth Eaglin; and sisters, Ann Noblitt and Bernice Turner.
