Two arrested after Cleveland Street traffic stop

Columbus police arrested two people after a traffic stop in the 700 block of Cleveland Street.

Police stopped a car driven by Nathaniel L. Jones-Knight, 18, 446 Della Road, at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday and requested that he and passenger Emily P. Parrish, 19, 6093 Porter Road, leave the vehicle, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officer Jeremy Jones said K-9 Max alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle, Harris said.

When searching the vehicle, officers found methamphetamine behind the driver’s seat and in the driver’s side floorboard, Harris said. Officers also found a syringe inside a purse inside the vehicle.

Jones-Knight was arrested on a charge of possession of methamphetamine and Parrish was arrested on a charge of possession of a legend drug injection device, Harris said.
