The inaugural Bourbonfest event at The Commons on Saturday raised $10,887 for the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic.
The 400-person sellout included 281 people who had never before attended a Philharmonic event, said Katelyn Ice, the orchestra’s marketing director.
She said that’s a key since a millennial planning committee was exploring new ways to reach their peers and also anyone not yet linked with the Philharmonic.
The gathering featured a range of national and regional distilleries, craft breweries and a few restaurants. Tickets granted attendees a specified number of shots of bourbon.
