William W. “Bill” Spaugh, 76, of Greensburg, died Monday evening, Feb. 20, 2017, at Aspen Place Health Facility in Greensburg.

He was a retired farmer and, along with farming, had been employed at Cummins, Reliance, Deckards Tool & Die, NTN and several other jobs.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of Hope American Legion and Greensburg Eagles Lodge, and served on the Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Board from 1982 to 1986.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and going on houseboat trips with friends.

Bill’s funeral will be at  11 a.m. Friday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hope American Legion through the funeral home.

Born March 5, 1940, in Shelbyville, Bill was the son of E.J. and Alma Hailway Spaugh, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Cory) Reeves of Hope; a son, Brian Spaugh of Washington State; and grandsons, Dylan Anthony of Hope, Dakota Bush of Hope and Ethan Henthorne of Taylorsville.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jim and Richard Spaugh.
