Maxine R. Jackson, 92, of County Road 100S, died at 8:12 a.m. February 22, 2017, at her home.
Maxine was born April 8, 1924, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of Lester and Hazel Bowers Whittington. She married Cecil O. “Deak” Jackson February 13, 1960.
Maxine was previously employed at C.P. Electronic and enjoyed being a farmer’s wife. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Moose Lodge.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Marcus Speer officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband; stepdaughter, Patricia Ann Whittington of Morristown; brother, C.B. “Red” Whittington of Columbus; sisters, Mary Glasson of Columbus and Elsie Hege of Hope; grandchildren, Michelle Mayes, Melinda Sykes, Marianne Petriskey, Jerry Wayne Henry, Beth James, Toni Roberts, Tim Smiley and Terry Smiley; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gerald Wayne Henry Sr.; daughter, Barbara Lee Wilkerson; and a brother, Lester Whittington.
