Brownstown
Ruth A. (Disque) Reedy, 77, of Brownstown, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
Her visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Brownstown Church of the Nazarene and again from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Her funeral will begin at noon at the church. Pastor Tim Lichtley will officiate and burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.
Memorial donations may be made to the Brownstown Church of the Nazarene or to the John and Ruth Reedy Scholarship Fund.
Ruth was a 1957 graduate of Brownstown High School. She had worked in retail accounting at Ben Franklin for 10 years and retired as Secretary/Treasurer from J.E. Reedy Inc. She was currently a member of the Brownstown Church of the Nazarene, where she served on the Church Board. She had been a member of the Seymour 1st Church of the Nazarene for 35 years. During those years, she taught pre-K and kindergarten at the church. She also had taught vacation Bible school and was active in the ladies ministries at the Church.
She was born on October 3, 1939, in Brownstown at home. Her parents were Edison Franklin Disque and Mary Elizabeth (Goss) Disque. On March 15, 1958, she married John E. Reedy. He passed away in October of 1999.
Survivors include children, J. Jeffrey (Heather) Reedy, Gregory A. (Alicia) Reedy, Brian A. (Sara) Reedy, Joseph K. (Amy) Reedy, Eric F. (Denise) Reedy and Matt K. (Dianne) Reedy. There are 14 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. They are Andrew (fiancé Kristen Schacknaman) Patrick Reedy, Caleb Reedy, Bethany Reedy, Grant Reedy, Laine Reedy, Elizabeth Reedy, Marissa Reedy, Jared Reedy, Lauren Reedy, Jacob Reedy, Jack Reedy, Ava Reedy, Matthew Reedy, Brad MedFord and Jeremy Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Ivalene Disque Crum; and two brothers, John Disque and Lebert Disque.
