Jenny’s picks – March 2

I’ve been sewing for years and, although I’m capable of following a pattern, my finished products seem artless and without polish. Maybe I can pick up some tips at the Bartholomew County Public Library’s Sewing program, for ages 10 and older, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Information: 812-379-1266.

In this world, how many chances do we have to help other people while we are enjoying wine and beer? You’ll have your chance to do just that at D-Vine Wine and Beer Fest, a tasting event and fundraiser for Developmental Services Inc., 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday at The Commons, 300 Washington St., Columbus. The event now includes area distilleries joining wineries and breweries. All guests will receive a complimentary commemorative wine or beer glass and be eligible for door prizes and 50/50 raffles. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. All guests must be 21 or older to attend. Tickets can be purchased on line at dsiservices.org or at DSI, 2920 10th St., Columbus.
