Senior night highlights boys game

The Jennings County Panthers hosted the Franklin Grizzly Cubs in a boys basketball game Feb. 24, but it was no ordinary game. That’s because it was senior night.

The boys basketball team, the cheerleaders, and the Marching Pride of Jennings County all recognized their members who will be concluding their high school careers.

Basketball players and cheerleaders were recognized at the beginning of the game, and band seniors received recognition during halftime.

The basketball team’s seniors are: Nick AmRhein, Chase Ketcham, Kenneth Jones, Tyler Vogel and Bret Sawyer.

The Panthers played hard, receiving encouragement and cheering from spectators, but fell 64-55 to Franklin. Cheerleaders displayed spirit through their dance moves and tricks, and roused fans with their chants. Music selections from The Best Pep Band In The Land entertained the crowds from both teams, even through lengthy timeouts.

The basketball team’s regular season wrapped up with good sportsmanship and school spirit demonstrated by all three groups.
