A fuel spill that dumped nearly 500 gallons of diesel fuel at Dorel Juvenile group was brought under control by Dorel employees and Columbus firefighters before it caused environmental hazards.

1992

A smattering of rain reduced the threat of outdoor fires in the area but not before the 30th brush fire in a week spread to and destroyed an old barn and three acres of brush.

1967

Columbus’ second major fire in a month caused an undetermined amount of damage to the National Guard Armory at Seventh and Franklin streets, leaving the future of the 42-year-old building uncertain.
