Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District plans to close the working face of the landfill for large dropoffs at 1 p.m. Saturdays.
The change, effective April 1, will allow the district’s contractor, Rumpke, to be more efficient with Saturday operations.
All commercial- and industrial-size loads will not be accepted after 1 p.m. Saturdays.
However, the landfill will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all Saturdays for residents wishing to use the small load area next to the Scale House.
The landfill is located at 811 E. County Road 450S in the Walesboro area.
