Ohio Guard member died from heart attack at Camp Atterbury

A member of the Ohio National Guard who died Friday during a training exercise at Camp Atterbury suffered a heart attack.

Capt. Brian A. Stillman, 43, Norton, Ohio, collapsed shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday, a news release from the Ohio National Guard said.

Stillman was pronounced dead at the scene by Senior Deputy Coroner Charles Deweese, after Deweese was notified of the death at 2:09 p.m., Bartholomew County Coroner Clayton Nolting said.

Stillman had collapsed during training exercises and witnesses and medics attempted to resuscitate him, Nolting said.

Stillman’s cause of death is listed as acute thrombosis of the left anterior descending coronary artery, Nolting said.
