Malcolm E. Smith, 49, of McClure Road, died at 11:05 a.m. March 13, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Malcolm was born January 16, 1968, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, the son of Larry Mack Smith and Nancy L. Moore Smith. He married Sarah Nicole Kornblith November 1, 2013.
He was a 29-year member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and was a charter member of the Columbus chapter. He loved to cook, read and set things on fire.
An Irish wake will be held at the family home at a later date.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah; many furry and feathered children; parents, Larry (Toni) Smith and Nancy (Terry Hedrick) Smith, all of Columbus; a sister, Caitlin (Dan Ball) Smith of Columbus; and brothers, Clark (Jodi) Hacker of Columbus, Caleb (Kelli) Hacker of Columbus, Brian (Julie) Hedrick of Franklin and Chris Hedrick of Berkley, California.
