Experience nature, flowers while at Anderson Falls

If you have had enough of the winter weather and are eager to see spring flowers begin to bloom, the Anderson Falls Nature Stroll near Hartsville next month may be for you.

Led by Doug Johnson, who has been tracking wildflowers at Anderson Falls since 1970, the nature stroll will take in the spring sights at 10:30 a.m. April 8. Participants are asked to meet at the Anderson Falls parking lot, and to dress for mud, the weather, some hills and a possible low-water stream crossing. The trail covers about a mile-and-a-half.

You may see dogtooth lilies, trilliums and other spring wildflowers inside the Department of Natural Resources Dedicated Nature Preserve.

The rain date will be at 10:30 a.m. April 15.

Anderson Falls is located at 3201 N. County Road 1140E, located south of Hartsville.
