Letter: Affordable Care Act changes benefit wealthy

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) just released its report saying that 24 million people will lose health insurance coverage if the Affordable Care Act is repealed and this latest health plan is passed by President Trump and the Republican Congress. Some say that you can’t trust the CBO, but POLITICO received a leaked White House document saying that the White House expected the number to be more like 26 million.

To me that means that the hype from the Republican Congress and Donald Trump, that it is going to bigger and better, is simply a ruse to cut Medicare by $880 billion, so they can line the pockets of the ultra rich.

It is absolutely nauseating.

I guess I can’t say it any better than Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.V.: “You’ve got to have a moral compass inside of you. You can’t do that. Look at the elderly, look at the poor, look at the sick. How can you look at yourself and say, Okay, I’ll help the person who needs help the least, the wealthiest people, with more tax cuts, because I’m going to be taking away from the elderly population?”
