Algerine Marie “Alie” Haw, 17, of Columbus, passed from this life Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at her home.
Alie was born September 7, 1999, in Columbus, Indiana.
Alie was a 2016 home school graduate, graduating two years early. She currently was a freshman at Ivy Tech.
She was a member of the competition team at Sonya’s Dance Zone and a member of the Community Church of Columbus where she was active in youth group. Alie was an artist and enjoyed playing rugby.
Alie is survived by her mother and stepfather, Aimee and Toan Nguyen of Columbus; her father and stepmother, Allan and Laura Haw of Franklin; brothers, Austin, Allan Joshua and Ashton, all of Columbus; a stepbrother, Andre of Franklin; grandparents, the Rev. Ann Haw of Franklin, the Rev. Davis and Ruth Haw of Ormond-By-The-Sea, Florida, Debbie and Randy Stanton of Dallas, Texas, and Thi Thu Nguyen of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; aunts and uncles, Minh and Cindy Nguyen of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, Traci Nguyen of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Steve and Heidi Haw of Madison, Wisconsin; and many cousins and other relatives.
Alie was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Chester and Reba Sterrett; and grandfathers, Rick Patterson and James Barker.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at Community Church of Columbus, 3850 N. Marr Road, Columbus, with Pastor Chuck Coleman officiating. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alie Haw Scholarship for dance at Sonya’s Dance Zone.
