A Jennings County businessman and philanthropist who wished to remain anonymous donated $1 million to the Jennings County Community Foundation’s scholarship program.


A financial consultant hired by Columbus Utility Service Board suggested a hike in water and sewer rates to fund the city’s plan for $9.2 million in water service improvements and $5.7 million in waste water improvements.


Local farmers participating in a National Farmers Organization boycott continued to dump milk for the 10th consecutive day, but stores and dairies said their supplies of dairy products were plentiful.
