Child Services plans dinner, pinwheels event

The Bartholomew County Department of Child Services is kicking off Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month with family at a downtown restaurant, followed by a walk to Columbus City Hall to plant pinwheels.

The Pizza Pinwheel Family Extravaganza is 6 p.m. Friday, beginning at Puccini’s Smiling Teeth, 318 Washington St., and ending at City Hall, 123 Washington St. The public is invited to come eat and plant pinwheels.

A family meal costs $5 and include a slice of pizza, choice of salad or two breadsticks, and a drink.

The event is hosted by Family Services, which oversees the local Child Abuse Prevention program (CAP Council).
