Groundbreaking ceremonies for the Atterbury-Bakalar Aviation Museum at the airport marked the start of local efforts to preserve the community’s role in military aviation from 1942 to 1971.

1967

Six field fires were doused by rural firefighters in Bartholomew County while state forest employees and conservation officers fought a blaze that burned more than 30 acres of brush and timber just to the west of Camp Atterbury.
