Local colleges host career, internship fair

Indiana University Purdue University Columbus and Ivy Tech Community College are hosting a joint career and internship fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Columbus Learning Center, 4555 Central Ave.

All students, alumni and members of the community interested in full-time, part-time and internship positions are welcome to come participate.

Attendees should dress in business attire and bring copies of their resumes.

Students, faculty honored at IUPUC Convocation

Students and faculty will be recognized for outstanding work and achievements throughout the academic year at the 2017 Honors Convocation at Indiana University Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC).

The event is 6 p.m. April 12 in the Custer-Nugent Lecture Hall inside the Columbus Learning Center, 4555 Central Ave.

Twenty-one local students, two staff members and six faculty members, selected by their peers, will be honored for a variety of awards.

The seventh round of Student Research Grant recipients will also be recognized.

Students to be recognized include:

Bartholomew County: Jeanette Barker, Andace Barnes, Kelby Bennett, Condel Bowen, Mindy Chapple, Mason Cochran, Ashley Dieter, Thomas Fields, Alexandria Galloway, Mikala Greenlee, Louise Guilfoyle, Teresea Higham, Samantha Kohlman, Chris Nigarura, Greicy Patino, Alicca Rice, Sabrina Schipper, Jeremy Stagg, Holly Stockhover, Timothy Stricker, Maryka Teltoe and Carissa Walls.

Jennings County: Jessica Caldwell, Elizabeth Lynch and Meagan Ferguson.

Faculty and staff to be awarded include: Mohammed Ansari, Lisa Siefker Bailey, Cynthia Felsten, Mark Jaime, Deborah Judge, JD Mendez, Matt Rothrock and Aimee Zoeller.
