Man arrested while sleeping in stolen truck

Columbus police arrested a Hope man on charges of auto theft and possession of a legend drug-injection device after he was found sleeping in a stolen truck.

Officers Logan Adams and Kelly Holley were sent to a store parking lot in the 700 block of Whitfield Drive at 9:35 a.m. Sunday about a suspicious person in a vehicle, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

They found Brian R. Sosbe, 32, 119 Jackson St., Hope, slumped over in the driver’s seat, Harris said.

Officers determined a short time later that the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado he was found in was reported stolen from Shelby County, Harris said.

After Sosbe was arrested, they found a syringe in his clothing, Harris said.

Sosbe is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $22,000 bond, jail officials said.
