Local fire departments received numerous reports of lightning-to-building strikes as a charged-up weather system rolled through Bartholomew County.

1992

Columbus Police Chief Charles Imel, responding to a suggestion by the Mayor’s Task Force to Improve Citizen Police Relations, proposed a reorganization of the department to get wider representation among officers involved in decision making.

1967

Plans for a 30-lot subdivision, “Chapel Square,” to be located on eight acres near 31st Street, were submitted to Columbus Plan Commission for approval.
