Bull Dogs blast Brownstown

Spencer Fairbanks fired an even-par 36 Tuesday at Harrison Lake Country Club to lead Columbus North to a 150-176 win against Brownstown Central.

Bryce Turner carded a 37, Matt Vorndran added a 38 and Zachary Schiavello shot 39 for the Bull Dogs. Drew Smith had a 41, Henry Kiel and Reese Moore each shot 42 and Jonathan Ward finished with a 43.

Jennings boys victorious

NORTH VERNON — The Jennings County boys opened the season with an 83-48 win against East Central on Tuesday. The Trojans won the girls meet 83-49.

Isaiah Ertel won the 110-meter hurdles (17.0 seconds) and 400 (54.7), and Carter Leak took the 1,600 (4:47.7) and 3,200 (10:22.5) to lead the Panther boys. Tucker Marsh won the long jump (19 feet, 9 3/4 inches), Ryan Gasper took the 800 (2:09.6) and Jennings swept the 4×800 (8:29.6), 4×100 (44.9) and 4×400 (3:45.2) relays.

Kayla Truesdell led the Panther girls with wins in the shot put (38-7 3/4) and discus (104-9). Alana Daeger took the high jump (5-0), Alexis Harsh captured the long jump (17-6 1/4) and Izzy Daugherty won the 400 (1:05.4).

Edinburgh girls roll

EDINBURGH — The Edinburgh girls won their season opener 76-37 against Indianapolis Tindley on Tuesday. The Tigers won the boys meet 82-35.

Taylor Tatlock won the discus (91-8) and 400 (1:07.5), and Emily Davis took the 1,600 (7:37) and 3,200 (17:14) to lead the Lancer girls. Other individual winners were Katelyn Bivens in the high jump (4-10), Blythe Carman in the long jump (12-0), Destini Myers in the shot (25-2) and Savannah Kellams in the 100 hurdles (21.1). Edinburgh also won the 4×800 (14:46) and 4×100 (59.2) relays.

Winners for the Lancer boys were Sean Bacha in the discus (88-0), Hunter Dean in the 300 hurdles (48.2) and Isaiah Estes in the 3,200 (16:08).
