Pet oxygen masks donated to police

Columbus Police Department’s three K-9 officers now have pet oxygen masks they can use should they encounter animals that need assistance with oxygen.

The officers received the masks as a gift last week from “Project Bow-Wow”, a non-profit agency in Bedford that provides emergency services personnel with pet oxygen masks at no charge.

“As a K-9 officer, we understand as well as anyone that for many people pets and animals are an important part of their family,” K-9 Officer Jeremy Jones said.

“Although we hope we do not have to use them, we are thankful to have the masks in the event of an emergency” he added.
