Skylor D. Walp, 25, of Hope, passed away at 9:23 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Johnson Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. The Rev. Marcus Speer will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. A private graveside service will be conducted Monday at Vernon Cemetery.

Born February 21, 1992, Skylor was the son of David Walp and Leslie Brown Briner.

Skylor was a kind-hearted, generous and loved Son, Grandson, Brother, Uncle and Nephew. He loved all things nature, including fishing, camping and hunting. He loved big trucks and John Deere tractors. Skylor helped anyone he could any way he could. He enjoyed life, loved fiercely and absolutely adored his nieces.

Skylor is survived by his Father, David Walp of Columbus; Mother, Leslie Brown-Briner (Todd Briner) of E-town; Grandparents, Tommy and Carol Walp of Hope; Grandparents, Charlie and Jean Brown of North Vernon; Sister, Katelyn Johnson (Tyler Johnson) of North Vernon; Sister, Lacey Walp (Kelly Wilson) of Columbus; and nieces, Reagan and Kaidence.

Memorials may be made to The Lighthouse Recovery Center through the funeral home.
