Timothy B. Perry, 47, of Columbus, died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at his home.

Tim was a firefighter for the Columbus Fire Department, where he began working Nov. 6, 1991. Tim was a member of Stoney Lonesome Motorcycle Club, AMA and the Columbus Moose Lodge #398.

As a teenager, he loved to roller skate, race motorcycles and go-carts.

Tim loved to work on engines and cars with his friends and his son. His philosophy was if it has an engine, I can make it go faster. Tim enjoyed helping and talking to people and was a safety enthusiast. He was devoted to attending his son’s sporting events including baseball, basketball, football and track.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Columbus Fire Department Chaplain Ron Bridgewater and Father Clem Davis officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to time of service Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund.

Mr. Perry was born April 3, 1970, in Columbus to James F. and Priscilla Owens Perry.

Survivors include his son, Triston Perry of Columbus; his mother, Priscilla Perry of Columbus; a brother, Randall Perry of Indiana; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James F. Perry.
