Columbus police seek information

Columbus police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver who hit a 41-year-old man with a car in the 200 block of Smith Street at 11:45 p.m. Monday.

Officers spoke with a woman who located the victim and called police, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The victim suffered injuries to his face and leg and was transported by helicopter to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Harris said. He was admitted in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, Harris said.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call police at 812-376-2600. Tips and information can be left anonymously.
