Local man arrested on 6 warrants

Columbus police arrested a local man on six arrest warrants after he was located at a west-side Columbus residence.

Alex R. Lawson, 23, of 321 Sycamore St., Columbus, was arrested in a house in the 2100 block of Shadow Fox Drive at 8 p.m. Tuesday by Columbus police, assisted by a Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputy, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Lawson was arrested on a Jennings County arrest warrant, and five Bartholomew County failure-to-appear warrants for possession of a syringe, driving while suspended with a prior conviction, domestic battery, battery with bodily injury and resisting law enforcement, battery and battery by bodily waste and contempt of court.

Lawson is being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail.
