Panel discussion covering architecture’s importance

An upcoming panel discussion will delve into the importance of architecture and design in the future of Columbus.

The event features repre-sentatives of the arts, sciences and humanities from IUPUC and the Indiana University Center for Art + Design. It will be conducted from noon to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, which is being observed as IU Day across Indiana.

Members of the panel from IUPUC are Luke Jacobus, assistant professor of biology; Julie Goodspeed-Chadwick, associate professor of English; Tom Lawrence, assistant professor of mechanical engineering; Aimee Zoeller, lecturer in sociology; and Filiz Cicek, adjunct lecturer.

A topic likely to come up will be the recent approval of Indiana University’s master’s degree program for architecture, which will be offered in Columbus starting in the fall of 2018.

The panel discussion will be held at IUCA+D, 310 Jackson St., and moderated by T. Kelly Wilson (pictured above), the design center’s director.

A light lunch will be available.
