A representative of Interstate Brands, owner of the Dolly Madison plant on National Road, confirmed it would no longer produce and sell Sap’s Donuts, the last connection to a bakery started by Sap Essex and made into a national trademark.

1992

Irwin Financial Corp. set an earnings record in the first quarter of the year, doubling its profits from a year before, and Home Federal Savings Bank reported record earnings and a 47 percent improvement in profits.

1967

Columbus Police Department and insurance agents of Columbus sponsored a weeklong “lock your car” campaign, including placing stickers at parking meters encouraging residents to remove their keys and lock doors before leaving vehicles, a program other cities reported having a “decided” decrease in stolen cars.
