Gov. Mitch Daniels and Maj. Gen. R. Martin Umbarger announced the Army planned to transform Muscatatuck Urban Training Center into a war-torn city to be used for military training, at a cost of $100 million.

1992

A twin-engine plane carrying seven employees of a north Carolina business landed safely at Columbus Municipal Airport after one of the plane’s engines faltered.

Operations were back to normal at the Como Plastics plant here following a brief wildcat strike which resulted in the discharge of several workers.
