Hoosier Lottery giving away free Powerball tickets at Columbus location

INDIANAPOLIS — The Hoosier Lottery is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Powerball with a thank you to players as Indiana was the first state with a Powerball jackpot winner. To date, Hoosier Lottery has the most Powerball jackpot winners, with 39 Powerball jackpot hits in 25 years.

To celebrate, Hoosier Lottery is giving away Powerball tickets at select retailers today beginning at 3:25 p.m. The first 25 people to purchase a Powerball ticket at the specific retailers can draw a ball from a bag. Each ball will be numbered 1-25, and the drawn number will be the number of free Powerball tickets the person receives. One person at each location will receive 25 free Powerball tickets. The participating retailers include:

  • Discount Food & Gas, 5750 25th St., Columbus.
  • Edco of Evansville, 2505 Stringtown Road, Evansville.
  • 7-Eleven, 25960 County Road 20, Elkhart.
  • Hoosier Lottery Headquarters, 1302 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis.
