Thomas William Tertocha, 75, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

He was born Nov. 16, 1941, in Decatur, Illinois, to Ralph Robert Tertocha and Katherine Harshbarger Tertocha. He married Gayle Chapman Jan. 25, 1969, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Decatur, Illinois.

Tom was a 1959 graduate of Eisenhower High School, Decatur, Illinois. He worked at Golden Castings in Columbus, Indiana, for 34 years as machine maintenance and Nachi Technology in Greenwood, Indiana, from 2003 until his retirement in 2011. He also successfully ran his own fabrication business.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He attended St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clifty and enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds and card games with his friends.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clifty with Pastor Doug Bauman officiating. Calling hours will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will follow the service at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clifty or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.

Surviving Tom are his wife, Gayle; daughter, Christine (Steve) Burton; son, Robert (Ronda Thompson) Tertocha; grandchildren, Taylor and Gabriel Tertocha and Dakota Thompson; and a sister, Sylvia (Larry) German of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jodi Tertocha Luckinbill and Janice Tertocha Meredith; and a brother, James Tertocha of Decatur, Illinois.
