1) The Music At Asbury program has borne as much fruit through the years as organizer Chuck VanNatta’s blooming orchard at his Columbus home. The eclectic music lover recently revived a smaller, easier-to-manage version of the series. The 12-member Indiana University Guitar Ensemble will be up to strum-thing good — specifically, baroque to The Beatles — at 7:30 p.m. April 22 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1751 27th St. in Columbus. The concert is free, but donations are accepted. Information: 812-372-6494.
2) Numbers don’t lie. And the good cooks at the annual First United Methodist Church Smorgasbord regularly have fed more than 1,000 diners at their event that has supported a range of missions since its inception in 1965. If you have a hunger to help others, go eat from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 27 and 28 at the church, 618 Eighth St. Actually, you have a choice of dine-in, carry-out or delivery. Tickets: Adults $12 advance, $14 at the door; children 5 to 10 years $5 advance, $6 at the door; children ages 4 and younger eat free. Information: 812-372-2851 or fumccolumbus.org.
