Jenny’s picks – April 20

1) From the time I was able to climb out of bed on my own until the time I valued sleeping in, I loved nothing more than planting myself in front of the TV for hours. From some unholy hour until my mother snapped the TV off to force me to do my chores, I’d watch brightly colored, badly produced cartoons, soaking up ads for sugary foods I’d never get to try and plugs for enough plastic toys to fill the Atlantic Ocean. Good times. I hope to relive some of my long-ago TV watching with Saturday Morning Cartoons, featuring “Scooby Doo: Camp Scare,” 10 a.m. to noon April 22 in the Red Room at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. Information, 812-379-1288, mybcpl.org.

2) I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to cars, and I would never pretend to be, but I do enjoy looking at old automobiles. The Annual Model A Ford Swap Meet, Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds, 750 W. County Road 200S, will afford me some chances to ogle some old autos. Scheduled: Model A Ford cars on display, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 30. Admission: $3. Breakfast and lunch available. Information: 812-371-6628; [email protected]; modelacolumbus.com.
