Kelly Marie Mitchner, 33, of Columbus, passed from this life Wednesday, April 19, 2017, in Columbus.
Kelly was born November 24, 1983, in Columbus, the daughter of Gary L. and Nadia Nebesny Mitchner.
Kelly was a 2002 graduate of Columbus North High School and was currently in the Education Program at IUPUC.
She was a substitute teacher with the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. and was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
She loved spending time with her kids and her many friends who were like family to Kelly. She loved to sing and enjoyed playing basketball.
Kelly is survived by her sons, Dylan and Jaedyn Denney of Columbus; her stepdaughter, Kamryn Denney of Columbus; her former husband, James Denney of Columbus; her siblings, Daren (Olivia) Mitchner Sr., Shelby Mitchner and Troy Mitchner, all of Columbus, and Chad Mitchner (Faith Hale) of Oakland, California; and nephews, Kyle Johns and Daren Mitchner Jr., both of Columbus.
Kelly was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral will be conducted at 5 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Mark Teike officiating.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time Monday.
In keeping with Kelly’s wishes, cremation will take place following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home.
