Charles Franklin Joseph Doane, 68, of Austin, Indiana, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Norton Hospital Downtown in Louisville.

He was born in Nashville, Indiana, to Ruby (Kintner) Doane and the late Harry Doane. He was an employee of Cummins Engine Company for 49 years.

Charles was a Roman Catholic. He was a member of St. Martin’s Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching and playing with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Faye Joseph (Jent) Doane; five daughters, Dawn Anita, Amy Rebecca, Rachel Elizabeth, Maria Gabbriella Doane and Jennifer Anderson (Jason); three sons, Daniel Todd (Rose), Matthew Kenneth (Robin) and Charles Bryan Doane; mother, Ruby (Kintner) Doane; three sisters, Patty, Ruth and Betty; and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral will be noon Monday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 639 S. Shelby St. at Gray Street, with interment at Spurgeon Cemetery in Austin, Indiana. Visitation will be 10 to 11:45 a.m. Monday at St. Martin’s Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bosse Funeral Home, Louisville.
