Democrat to discuss latest legislative session

Rep. Terry Goodin, D-Austin, will be the guest speaker at Columbus Democratic Party headquarters, 1417 Chestnut St., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss this year’s legislative session.

Goodin plans to discuss the failure of independent redistricting and hate-crime legislation to make it through this session and plans to bring the bills back for 2018. He also plans to discuss public school funding and decisions about state infrastructure needs.

Goodin is superintendent of Crothersville Community Schools and raises beef cattle on his family’s farm. He graduated from Austin High School and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern Kentucky University, and a doctorate in education from Indiana University.
