Child’s mistaken 911 call lands mom in jail

A toddler who mistakenly dialed 911 led to the child’s mother being arrested on a Bartholomew County warrant.

Columbus Police were sent to the 2200 block of Sims Court at noon Sunday when officers were told it appeared a child was playing with a telephone in an apartment there, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Dispatchers also told the officers that a Bartholomew Superior Court 2 warrant was pending for the resident of the apartment, Paris M. Mann, 29, of 2215 Sims Court, Harris said.

Officers arrested Mann on the contempt-of-court warrant and the child remained in the care of another family member, police said.

Mann was released from the Bartholomew County Jail on $134 bond, jail officials said.
