Officer arrests local man on heroin possession charge

A call from a concerned citizen about a possible drunk driver led to the arrest of a local man on a charge of possession of heroin.

Columbus Police Officer Brian Kushman located the suspicious vehicle at 10:50 a.m. Monday as it pulled into a parking lot in the 2900 block of National Road, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Kushman saw that the driver, later identified as William J. Stillabower, 32, was talking on his cell phone as the officer approached the vehicle, Harris said. Kushman also noted that Stillabower had an uncapped syringe on his lap that he attempted to conceal, Harris said.

Stillabower was arrested on charges of possession of heroin and possession of a legend drug injection device, Harris said.
