Janet D. Burton, 69, of Edinburgh, died April 24, 2017, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was born on Sept. 12, 1947, in Somerset, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Beecher B. and Blyth E. (Goodin) Burdine. She married Billy Joe Burton on Feb. 2, 1980.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Bobby Mathis of Linton; two brothers, Dwight L. (Darlene) Burdine of Edinburgh and William B. Burdine of Indianapolis; a sister, Rhonda C. (Jeff) Simpson; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. She was currently employed by GTR in Edinburgh. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading her Bible.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017, by the Rev. Lewis Burton at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church. Calling will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
