Susan (Edwards) Whittaker, 69, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was born Aug. 7, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana, to Charles M. Edwards and Rae Marie (Casterline) Edwards. She married Terry Whittaker on Aug. 17, 1968, and they moved to Columbus in 1979 where they assumed ownership of Viewpoint Books.
She and Terry had two daughters, Nikki (Whittaker) Malley and Rachael (Whittaker) Bradshaw. She was the beloved grandmother of Eliot Bradshaw.
As the owner of Viewpoint Books for over 35 years, she shared her passion for reading and literacy with her community. She was also the first-floor manager of the Columbus Area Visitors Center which allowed her to share her love for the city of Columbus with visitors from all over the world. She was a kind and generous person who made everyone better for knowing her.
