Edinburgh
Alice Marie Williams, 91, of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away on April 25, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana. She was born on July 3, 1925, in Maysville, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Jonathan and Anna (Clary) Eckert. She married Russell Bice Williams on July 9, 1949, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1978.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita (Rob) Gearhart of Edinburgh, Indiana and Donna (Jeff) Christian of Shelbyville, Indiana; grandchildren, Elizabeth (John) Blue, Benjamin Gearhart, Maria Christian and Anna Christian; and great-granddaughter, Ruby Alice Blue.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Ernest Eckert; and sisters, Della Lykins and Katherine Redford.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Auburn Christian Church. She was a 1942 graduate of Columbus High School in Columbus, Indiana.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017, by Pastors Brian Scott and her nephew, Douglas Redford at Mt. Auburn Christian Church in Mt. Auburn, Indiana. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Auburn Christian Church Building Fund or to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Fund at Blue River Community Foundation.
