Hospital announces leadership additions

Columbus Regional Health announced the addition of two leadership positions within their medical staff — associate chief medical officer of Columbus Regional Hospital and associate chief medical officer of Columbus Regional Health Physicians.

Dr. R. Lee Kiser, will serve as the associate chief medical officer of Columbus Regional Hospital. He has served in multiple leadership roles at the hospital, including section chief of medicine, chief of staff – elect and his current role as chief of staff at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Dr. Slade Crowder will serve as associate chief medical officer of Columbus Regional Health Physicians. He has also served in multiple leadership positions. These include section chief of family medicine, medical director of Sandcrest Family Medicine and recently as chairman of the Physician Operating Committee of Columbus Regional Health Physicians.

The associate chief medical officer establishes and facilitates the system of care to deliver high quality medical care, patient experience and cost containment for patients.

Dialysis program at hospital recognized

The Inpatient Dialysis Unit at Columbus Regional Hospital has been recognized as a 5-Diamond Patient Safety Facility by the national 5 Diamond Program.

CRH is one of only 237 inpatient programs in the nation to reach this status.

Each module of the 5 Diamond Program provides tools and resources necessary to implement patient safety concepts. A total of five diamonds can be earned, one for each completed module. Modules include:

  • Developing a patient safety culture
  • Influenza vaccination campaign
  • Patient-provider conflict management
  • Hand hygiene
  • Adverse event reporting

Once a facility completes all modules, with 100 percent staff participation and a commitment to use the safety concepts every day for every patient, it is recognized as a 5-Diamond Patient Safety Facility.

Local salon moves to new location

Legends Beauty Salon in Columbus, owned by Sherdon and Linda Rhoades, has relocated from 3910 25th St., Holiday Center to 3965 Williamsburg Way, also in Holiday Center.

A grand opening is planned for May 3 to 5.
