Driver arrested after truck rollover

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a driver after he rolled his truck on West Lowell Road at North County Road 250W.

Deputy Jeff Tindell was sent to the accident at 8:55 a.m. Sunday and found a 2005 F150 truck overturned on its side, off the roadway.

Witnesses gave deputies a description of a male who got out of the truck and went toward the Driftwood River, deputies said.

Deputies located Joshua M. Arnett, 30, 811 Maple St., in a field near the river and arrested him on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine and a Bartholomew County warrant for failure to appear in court, deputies said.

Arnett was treated and released from Columbus Regional Hospital before being transported to the Bartholomew County Jail, where he was being held in lieu of $73,500 bond.

Assisting at the scene were Lt. Todd Noblitt, deputies Jessica Pendleton and Matt Bush, the Columbus Police Department and the Columbus Township Fire Department.
