State Road 252 to close Monday in southwest Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Transportation will place barricades at County Road 250W on Monday, closing State Road 252 in southwest Shelby County through the town of Flat Rock. The closing will continue west to the Flatrock River and Lewis Creek.

INDOT officials anticipate the closing will be in effect for several months for pavement replacement and widening and storm sewer installation. Other work includes installation of a box culvert just west of town and continuing bridge work.

All of State Road 252 is closed to traffic between Interstate 65 and Flat Rock.  A state detour reroutes motorists via I-65, U.S. 31, State Road 46 and State Road 9.

Milestone is the state’s contractor for the $12 million 7-mile-long project on State Road 252.
