Driver arrested after single-vehicle accident on North Marr Road

A Hope man was treated and released from the hospital after being injured in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday in the 11000 block of North Marr Road.

Ryan T. Meahl, 20, 11555 E. County Road 885N, Hope, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated – endangerment and illegal consumption after he was released from the hospital, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputy Adam Warner was sent to a report of a possible intoxicated driver on North Marr Road at about 6:25 p.m. Tuesday. While heading there, he learned about the single-vehicle accident and found a silver Chevrolet S10, which matched the description of the intoxicated driving vehicle, on its side off the roadway, deputies said.

Deputies said it appeared the vehicle had attempted to navigate a curve at a high rate of speed, left the roadway, hit a fence and rolled.

Meahl has since been released from the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.
