Columbus police arrested a local man on three Bartholomew County warrants and for possession of methamphetamine after he was located in a local store.
Officers were sent to the 1800 block of North National Road at 4 p.m. Wednesday and found Jayson C. George, 39, of 2890 12th St., inside, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
They confirmed George had multiple warrants for his arrest, including three for failure to appear on charges of battery, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Harris said. When searching George, officers found a syringe containing methamphetamine in his clothing, police said.
George was also arrested on preliminary felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe, police said.
He is being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.
